Mangotsfield Primary Clubs Terms 5 & 6

Sporting Chance provide a range of extra-curricular clubs for children in EYFS, KS1, and KS2. Our excellent team of coaches aim to inspire, develop, and engage your children in additional sporting opportunities beyond the school day. From Term 5 and 6 we will be providing Morning Sports Clubs (MSC 8-840am) as well as After School Clubs (ASC 330-445pm). SIGN UP to give your child a 'Sporting Chance..!'

What you need to know...

Term 5 & 6 clubs will start week commencing 25th April and finish week ending 22nd July, running from the end of the school day until 445pm (with the exception of 'playrangers' and 'school football teams' that finish at 430pm) - 12 weeks excluding half term. Children should attend school 'club ready' on the day of their club. Please ensure your child is wearing their Mangotsfield PE kit for clubs. At your first session please bring with you a drink, appropriate clothing and footwear (pe kit/trainers), a rain jacket (outdoor clubs), a water bottle, and any necessary medication.

Note: Monday 2nd May is a Bank Holiday and Monday 20th June is an INSET day. Monday Clubs are 10 weeks.

Once you have signed up and paid you are guaranteed a space. You do not have to wait to be told your child has a place, the online system automatically manages the volume of spaces available for each club. Payment can be made on the website (debit or credit card), via bank transfer, or by childcare vouchers. If paying by childcare vouchers then please book via the website as normal and select 'ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT OPTION' at checkout, making reference to childcare vouchers in the notes. Your confirmation email will direct you to the childcare voucher section of our website for details on how to pay. 

What does it cost?

After School Clubs are £4.50 per session. Clubs are booked and paid for in advance of the term. Booking multiple clubs? Book 2 clubs and save £5.00, book 3 clubs save £7.50. This offer applies to multiple clubs and/or children in the same family. 

Pick ups and drop offs...

All children attending clubs should meet in the studio at 330pm, years Reception, 1, and 2 will be escorted here by their club coach / teacher - they should already be wearing thier school PE kit as per 'club ready' rules. After the club has finished children are to be collected from the main entrance of the school by their named adult at 445pm (with the exception of 'playrangers' and 'school football teams' that finish at 430pm). If pick up arrangements change on any particular week then you must contact us directly giving detail of the named person collecting your child(ren).

Please ensure all children have the following...PE kit (joggers), trainers, shin pads for football, waterproof coat, and water.

About the clubs...

Mondays (10 sessions)

(330-445pm) Y1-2 Football: Football club includes skill based activities such as dribbling, close control, passing, shooting, attacking, defending, shielding the ball, and matchplay. 

(330-445pm) Y3-6 Athletics: The athletics club is now open to children from year 3 as well from term 3. This club will be all about running, jumping, and throwing and all the training will based on the ‘sportshall athletics’ events we take part in throughout the school year. We measure personal performance throughout the term and each child will be presented with a certificate according to the levels achieved. 

Tuesdays

(8-840am) Y3-6 Racket Sports Club: We alternate each session to play different racket sports (including table tennis, badminton, and tennis). Some of this is outdoors and some indoors - weather dependent. 

(330-445pm) Y1-3 Ultimate Dodgeball (NEW): Dodge, duck and dive! A multitude of dodgeball based games throughout the club. Key skills; dodging, running, throwing, and catching. 

Wednesdays

(330-445pm) YR-1 Mini Olympics (NEW): Mini Olympics is an athletics based club with weekly competitions and personal best challenges. Some indoors and some outdoors dependant on weather. 

(330-445pm) Y3-4 FootballFootball club includes skill based activities such as dribbling, close control, passing, shooting, attacking, defending, shielding the ball, and matchplay. 

Thursdays 

(8-840am) Y1-6 Boccia and New Age Kurling (NEW): The sessions are very inclusive for all to play and help to tune gross-motor skills.

(330-445pm) Y1-2 Superstar Multisports: Variety of sports throughout the term such as; football, tennis, cricket, basketball, dodgeball, athletics, netball, rounders. 

(330-445pm) Y3-6 Basketball (NEW): Includes skill based activities such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defence and attack strategies. We offer the chidlren the chance to enagge in matchplay as part of the clubs and teach them the positions on court and the roles of each player.

Fridays

(330-445pm) Y1-3 Gymnastics (NEW): This is an entry level gymnastics club that will focus on developing a range of balance, floor shapes, travelling, and generally aim to engage all abilities to try gymnastics and enjoy the challenges set. 

(330-445pm) Y3-6 Tennis (NEW): The club will focus on learning the basics of tennis, and support the development of agility, balance, and coordination. Key skills: ground strokes, serving, volleying, tactics, and match play.

(330-430pm) Y1-6 Playrangers (FREE to MOD families): Club designed to help integrate MOD families into the school / local community through structured play. The children partake in outdoor and adventurous activities such as: team-building games, orienteering, survival skills, den-building, and other problem solving tasks , as well as a chocie of other games.
